Why Multicultural Greek?
Although the University of Washington offers a diverse and accepting campus, strong cultural voice is always necessary in order to preserve our unique identities. All of our organizations are non-exclusive to the culture that we are spreading awareness for, and encourage everyone to come out and to find a community for themselves that they might not find in a traditional fraternity or sorority.

In search of a means of accomplishing this feat, the eventual Founding Fathers discovered the fraternity of Pi Alpha Phi, the nation’s first Asian-American interest fraternity and an organization founded in 1926 on the principles of Academic Excellence, Asian Awareness, Brotherhood, Leadership, and Philanthropy. Beginning in the Spring of 2003, this group of individuals sought out to bring the “Tradition of Excellence” to the University of Washington. With a strong determination to make a difference, they made a number of visits to existing chapters across the nation, learning the traditions and history of the Fraternity, what it stands for and how it became what it is today.
About: Our mission is to to nurture and further a dynamic, values-based environment which utilizes our historically Latino based fraternity as a catalyst to better serve the needs and wants of all people. After over 30 years, our Fraternity has grown to over 120 collegiate entities spanning across 30 states from Coast to Coast. Moreover, our membership has expanded beyond our Hispanic-Latino origins making us one of the most culturally diverse Greek lettered organizations. The brothers of sigma Lambda Beta pride ourselves in creating a family oriented atmosphere within our brotherhood.
